Fluxx is a leading cloud-based grants management platform used by top foundations and nonprofits. To improve productivity and drive AI adoption, I collaborated with the Engineering team to design and implement an AI-powered tool that seamlessly integrates into the platform.

At Fluxx, we support grantmakers worldwide, but AI is still a new technology for much of our industry. The challenge was building an AI tool that is both useful and easy to adopt while ensuring organizations feel confident integrating it into their policies.
Users had varying opinions and no clear consensus.
While some organizations are slow to adopt new technologies, others are quickly looking to integrate AI into their processes
Designing for AI Adoption
Teach Interaction through Good UX: I designed the tool to guide users in building effective prompts, helping them learn how to interact with the AI as they used the tool.
Simple, Approachable UI for Comfort and Adoption: Knowing that AI can be intimidating for many users, I focused on creating a clean, simple UI. This helped users feel confident integrating the tool into their daily workflow.
Ensure Transparency with Data Usage: To address privacy concerns, I incorporated tooltips and in-app notifications that provided users with clear context and support.

After creating initial designs that were launched to users, I was tasked with “future-proofing” a component to house all the dispersed AI summaries across multiple models within the Fluxx dashboard (documents, applications, organization, and more).
Designed an intuitive and accessible experience for users with limited AI knowledge.
Simplified prompt writing by breaking it into specific inputs, enabling users to achieve desired outcomes without deep AI expertise.
Provided an advanced prompt space for experienced users to input queries directly.
Ensured flexibility by allowing users to interact with the model with or without predefined inputs.
Due to changing priorities around AI, this work was never put into development
